Summer Camp · Every Summer · New Amritsar Colony

A summer worth showing up for.

Unhurried mornings of making, playing and figuring things out together, every summer at The Foundation.

Now in its fourth summer at The Foundation.

Children at The Foundation Summer Camp

What it is

Not a daycare. Not a worksheet factory.

For a few weeks each summer, children come in for the morning to make things, play, read and try activities they rarely get time for during the school year.

Small groups, the same teachers who already know the children, and no report card at the end. Summer should feel like summer, just with better things to do than a screen.

What a morning looks like

What the children actually do

The mix changes a little every summer, some favourites return, some are new, but the spirit stays the same.

  1. Art, craft & messy making

Painting, paper, clay, glue and the freedom to make a mess. The point is the making, not a perfect result.

  2. Story circles & reading

Read-alouds, picture books and made-up stories. Quiet time that builds language without it feeling like a lesson.

  3. Music, movement & dance

Rhymes, rhythm, action songs and room to move. Good for the youngest campers and the shy ones too.

  4. Hands-on science & nature

Small, safe experiments and simple nature play that answer a child’s favourite question: why?

  5. Games, sport & the outdoors

Group games and active play that teach turns, teamwork and how to lose a round and laugh about it.

  6. Show & tell, little performances

A low-stakes stage to speak, present and perform. Small wins that build real confidence.
