I started The Foundation because of one number I couldn't forget.
When I was teaching, I had a student who could recite every formula in the textbook. Her notes were immaculate. She scored fifty-eight in her term exam. That number stayed with me for weeks.
She wasn't lazy. She just hadn't been taught to understand what she was memorising. I started The Foundation because I believe that's fixable. Not with tougher problem sets, and not with more coaching hours. With a teacher who slows down at the right chapter, and a small enough room that slowing down is possible.
Twenty years in: I still teach. I still know every student by name, their strongest subject, and the one chapter they've been quietly avoiding. The academy grew because parents kept telling other parents. That's the only reason it grew.
